Chat Messages and Group Chat (Droid)

Anywhere Connect helps you stay in touch with colleagues using chat, for quick interactions when it’s not convenient to talk.

How do I send a chat?

  1. To initiate a chat session, select the name of the recipient from your contact list, communication history or the directory.
  2. Then, inside the contact’s profile, select the Chat icon.

  3. To add another contact to a chat session, tap the Add Contact icon at the top of the chat window.
    4. When adding a contact to a chat session, hit the Add Contact button in the top right hand corner of chat window. Add Contact icon is highlighted. Image opens in full resolution in a new tab.
  4. Then, tap the contacts you would like to add to the chat session and select the Checkmark icon in the top, right-hand corner.
    5. To add contacts to your chat, tap the contact you would like to add and select the checkmark icon in the top right hand corner. Contacts sected and check mark for done are highlighted.

Additional Chat Communication Options:

You can initiate other communications from the chat window by using the communication icons at the top of the window.

  1. To send a Chat Message, enter your note into the text box.
  2. To add an Emoticon to the message, select on the Emoticon menu and select your emoticon.
  3. You can initiate an Audio call by selecting the Call icon.
  4. You can initiate a Video Call by selecting the Video Call icon.
    5. Audio and video calls are available. Highlighed boxes include the audio and video icon. Image opns in full resolution in a new tab.

Android Tablet – Follow the same steps to initiate a chat session and to add a contact to a chat. There are also the same communication options available inside the chat window of your Android Tablet, along with some additional features for starting a new chat and adding chat participants.

  1. To send a Chat Message, enter your note into the text box.
  2. To add an Emoticon to the message, tap the Emoticon menu and select your emoticon.
  3. You can initiate an Audio call by selecting the Call icon.
  4. You can initiate a Video Call by selecting the Video Call icon.
  5. To start a new chat, select the New Chat icon.
  6. To add participants to the existing chat, select the Add Participants icon.
    7. Tap Add Contact icon at the top of chat window to add a new contact to the session. Add Contact icon is highlighted. Image opens in full resolution in a new tab.

How do I initiate a group chat?

  1. To initiate a group chat session, select the Chat icon to open the chat Window.
  2. Then, select the Options icon at the top right-hand corner of the chat window.
    3. Click the Options icon which is highlighted in the top right corner of the chat window to start a chat group. Options icon is highlighted. Image opens in full resolution in a new tab.
  3. Select Start group chat.
    4. To start a group chat, select Start group chat image in upper right hand corner. Image highlighed is Start group chat. Imagin opens in full resolution in a new tab.
  4. Then, select the contacts you would like to invite to the chat session and tap the Checkmark icon in the top, right-hand corner.
    5. To add contacts select by checking box next to the name you want to add. Select the checkmark icon in the top right hand corner. Highlighted image is the Checkmark icon. Image opens in full resolution in a new tab.

Android Tablet – To initiate a Group Chat Session, follow the following steps.

  1. Select the Chat icon at the top of the screen.
  2. Then, select the Add Participants icon.
    3. Tap the add contact icon at the top of chat window to add another contact. Add Contacty icon is highlighted. Image opens in full resloution in a new tab.
  3. From there, find the contacts who you would like to add. Tap the contacts and then tap Done.
    4. Find the contacts you wish to add and select the check mark for done. Check mark image is highlighted. Image opens in full resolution in a new tab.
