  1. Message Indicator
    1. The LED Indicator flashes to indicate an incoming call (quick red flashing light), a missed call or calls (slow red flashing light), or charging (solid red light). If no light is on, the phone is either fully charged or is not connected to the charger.
  2. Soft Keys
    1. The Soft Keys allows you to select a menu item displayed above the key.
  3. Navigation / OK Button
    1. Use the navigation arrow to Increase or decrease the ringer volume, scroll through menus, or move the cursor within fields. The center key is used to confirm a selection. In standby mode, the arrow keys perform the following:
    • Left: Displays Incoming Call Log
    • Right: Opens the Phone Book
    • Up: Adjusts the Ringer Volume
    • Down: Displays the Outgoing Call Log
  4. Talk / Speakerphone Button
    1. The Talk Button allows you to place or answer a call. Also, it allows you to switch from Receiver mode to Handsfree (speakerphone) mode.
    2. Note: Handsfree Mode does not work when using a headset.

  5. Power / End Button
    1. The End Button allows you to hang up during a call. The End Button also allows you to power off the unit by long pressing the button.
  6. Hold / Message Key
    1. The Hold / Message Key allows you to place a call on hold. In Standby Mode you can hit this button to retrieve a call that was placed on hold or simply to access your voice messages.
  7. Transfer / Clear Key
    1. The Transfer / ClearKey allows you to transfer a call or clear numbers or letters from the screen when inputting information.
  8. Line Key
    1. The Line Key is used to confirm the line status.
  9. Function Button
    1. The Function Key allows you to perform certain functions allowed by the phone. Please see section discussing functions.

Using Your Cordless Device

  1. Placing a Call
    1. First, dial number. Then, press the green phone button (Talk key). The number will then dial automatically. If you already have a dial tone. Dial the valid phone number and wait for the connection.
  2. Answering a Call
    1. To answer a call, from the handset, press the green talk button
  3. How to use the Phonebook
    1. The Panasonic KX-TPA 60 can store up to 500 numbers within the handset. All phone book items are stored in alphabetical order.
    2. To access the phonebook while in standby mode, press the Phonebook softkey. Enter the name of the first character of the desired entry and press OK. Navigated to your desired contact and press OK. Select the number and press the green talk button.
    • To add an entry to the Phonebook, press the Menu softkey. Navigate to New Phonebook and press the OK softkey. Proceed to enter a name and corresponding number. Once finished, click the Save softkey.
    • To edit an entry, press the Phonebook softkey. Enter the name of the first character of the desired entry and press OK. Scroll to find your entry and press the Menu softkey once highlighted. Select Edit. Select the portion you wish to edit, either the name or number and click OK. Once finished, click the Save button again.
  4. Place a Call on Hold
    1. While on a call, press the Hold / Message button to place the caller on hold.
  5. Resume a Call That Was Placed on Hold
    1. While on call is on hold, press the Hold / Message button to take the caller off hold.
  6. Ending a Call
    1. Press the End Button.
  7. How to use the Speaker Phone
    1. Press the green phone button (TALK key) on the handset to get the initial dial tone. To switch to the speakerphone, press the green phone button a second time.
    • If you’re already on a call and want to switch to the speakerphone, press the green talk button (Talk key).
  8. How to Transfer Calls
    1. To initiate a transfer during an active call, press the Transfer button. Dial the phone number or extension to which you intend to transfer. Wait for the party to announce the call and then press the end button.
    • To initiate a blind transfer during an active call, press the Blind softkey. Dial the phone number or extension to which you intend to transfer the call and press the Call softkey (or just wait 2 seconds and the call will be dialed automatically).
  9. How to Place a Call on Mute
    1. During an active call, press the Mute softkey. The call will be placed on mute and shown to be active by the blinking Mute Option on the home screen. To remove the caller from mute, press the Mute softkey to disable this function.
  10. Intercom Call
    1. You can create an intercom call with another wireless handset to quickly send an announcement. Press Menu. Then press the Intercom softkey and choose the wireless handset you wish to connect with and press OK. Hit the End Button once finished.
  11. Conference Calls
    1. To initiate a conference call while on an active call, press the Function button. Select Conference, it should be the fifth menu option within the function menu. Press OK. Enter the number in which you wish to add to the call. Once answered, hit the conference key and the calls will be joined.
    • To remove a party from the call, press the Hold / Message button. Use the navigation arrows to select the call you wish to disconnect and hot the end button.
  12. Call Parking and Retrieving
    1. You can park the current call and retrieve it on another wireless handset or phone by entering the dedicated retrieval code.
    2. Note: This feature is only available for lines registered with the Spectrum Enterprise Hosted Voice Server.

    • Parking Calls: During an active call, press the Function button. Select Call Park. Enter a valid extension you want to park the call. Press the End Button.
    • Retrieving Calls: Dial Star (*) 88. Dial the extension number in which the call was parked. Press the Pound (#) Key.
  13. Call Logs
    1. To access incoming call logs, press the Right Navigation Arrow. To view details of an incoming call, navigate to the entry in which you want to know more about.
    2. To access outgoing call logs, press the down Navigation Arrow. To view details of an incoming call, navigate to the entry in which you want to know more about.
  14. Accessing Voicemail
    1. Press the Hold / Message button and then select the line in which you want to hear the voice messages. Press OK and follow the instructions from the voice prompts.
  15. Setting a Language
    1. Press Menu and then Select Setting Handset. Locate Display Options and press OK. Then, select Language. Select your desired language, press OK.
  16. Setting the Handset Name
    1. Press Menu and then Select Setting Handset. Locate Display Options and press OK. Then, select the Handset Name. Input the name, press OK.
  17. Setting Ring Type
    1. Press Menu and then Select Setting Handset. Locate Incoming Option and press the OK softkey. Then, select Ringer Type and press the OK softkey. Select your Ringer Type and press the OK softkey. Confirm you want to change the Ring Pattern and then chose the ring pattern you wish to use. Once confirmed, press the OK softkey.
  18. Enabling & Disabling Keypad Tones
    1. Press Menu and then Select Setting Handset. Locate Tone Option and press the OK softkey. Then, select Key Tone and press the OK softkey. From this menu, you can either enable key tones or disable key tones. Press the OK softkey when finished.
